I was born and raised in a small town in south Louisiana. Growing up, I loved making videos and posting the most embarrassing ones I had on Youtube. I've also always been in love with reading and writing. After graduating high school in 2015, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. The future scared me, and it was frustrating hearing my friends talk about their career goals while I was busy swapping majors every semester, desperately searching for somewhere I'd belong. Looking for a little extra money, I applied to Tiger TV, LSU's student-run broadcast station, after my sophomore year. When I was hired as a news reporter, I was thrilled, but I had no idea the path it would lead me down and the excitement it would bring to my life. When I discovered that I could combine both of my passions with broadcast journalism, I felt like I had found my calling. Story by story, I fell in love with the crazy world of broadcast journalism. Broadcast journalism gives me the freedom to use my creativity while also bringing light to issues that would otherwise go unnoticed and truly help people. Whether it be telling students about how to stay safe on campus, digging up dirt on the number of students hit by cars on campus, or telling the story of a student with Spinal Muscular Atrophy fighting his way through college, I wake up eager to see what the day brings. I believe I am ready to graduate from LSU and transition into the real world to tell even bigger and better stories as a multimedia journalist.
